I learned something important tonight.
Just because you can substitute fake meat in a recipe does not necessarily mean you can also substitute turkey.
I have, for many years, used Morning Star Farms veggie meat with regular Sloppy Joe mix. It’s excellent. Even my omnivorous college roommate would eat it, and enjoy it.
So tonight, I decided to try ground turkey. I didn’t like it. It was kind of gross. It’s really too bad.

I love my Christmas tree. My grandmother bought it for me when I was in about fifth grade. She gave it to me with a whole bunch of these cute little ‘toy’ ornaments. I still have all the toy ornaments, but I didn’t use so many of them this year.
I wish the picture showed the lights better – it’s blue and white lights. My favorite. I’m also thinking I’ll try to find some more blue and silver ornaments to fill it out a little.
We also discovered we have to bribe my brother-in-law (ie, cook food and give beer) to put in an outdoor outlet. We don’t have even one, so we can’t put up outside Christmas lights this year. Maybe next year.

While buying a new humidifier last night, I ran across these towels. Immediately, I knew they were the colors I wanted in my kitchen.
When anything actually happens to integrate these colors to my kitchen, I shall let you know.

I’m doing this for my parents, who have asked for Christmas ideas for Chris and I. Therefore, I’m just posting links to our amazon wish lists.

Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card. If you’re a science fiction fan, or interested in science fiction, you should definitely read the Ender-series.
The DaVinci Code, and Angels and Demons by Dan Brown, both very good books which I highly recommend.
I know, I don’t say much about books when I do mass entries like this. I’ll try to work on that.
